Privacy Policy
Updated 22 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pookster House, ABN 56 352 952 312 (“Pookster House”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit pooksterhouse.com or contact us. Questions? Email privacy@pooksterhouse.com.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: When you register interest or contact us — your name, email address, the topic you selected (e.g. Stories, Sound, Play, Other), and anything you write in your message.
- Information collected automatically: Basic, aggregated analytics about how the site is used (e.g. pages visited) to help us improve the experience. See the separate Cookie Notice for details.
- Data-minimisation: We only ask for what we need — usually just your email and the thing you’re interested in. We do not run a general mailing list.
How we use your information
- To reply to you about the specific thing you registered interest in or asked about.
- To provide, protect and improve our website.
- To respond to bookings, collaboration, or licensing enquiries.
- To meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Legal basis for using your data
We rely on your consent (which you give when you submit a form and tick the consent box), and on our legitimate interest in running and improving Pookster House. You can withdraw consent at any time (see “Your rights”).
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the site and communicate with you, under their data-processing terms:
- Squarespace — website hosting and form submissions.
- Google Workspace — our email and internal storage.
- Google Analytics & Squarespace Analytics — website performance and visitor analytics.
We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
International data transfers
Pookster House operates from Australia and our providers may store data in other countries (such as the United States). Where personal data is transferred internationally, our providers use recognised safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses). By contacting us from anywhere in the world, you understand your information may be processed in these locations.
How long we keep it & how we protect it
We keep your details only as long as needed to respond to you. If your enquiry leads to a professional collaboration or booking, your details will be transferred to our customer list (governed by a separate Customer Privacy Policy). Every two months, inactive or resolved enquiry details will be de-identified by removing any personally identifiable information.
We protect our administrative accounts with strong passwords and two-factor authentication, and limit internal access to your data. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect your information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to withdraw consent, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email privacy@pooksterhouse.com and we will respond within a reasonable time frame.
- If you are in Australia: We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. You can complain to us first, and then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
- If you are in India: We handle personal data consistent with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection framework, requiring verifiable parental consent for users under 18, and honouring your rights to access, correction, and erasure.
- If you are in the EEA or UK (GDPR): You have the rights listed above and can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
Our website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. Because our contact forms do not ask for age or date of birth, we rely on parents or guardians to contact us if they believe a child has provided us with personal data. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child (under 16 generally, or under 18 in India) without parental consent, we will delete it immediately.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the “Last Updated” date at the top shows when it was most recently revised. Questions or requests? Email privacy@pooksterhouse.com.
